For how many years have you been working out and why?
"I've been training for around 4 years now properly, I used to represent Yorkshire and other counties for rugby and athletics, i was a sprinter so therefore rugby position was a winger, always ran since i could first stand up pretty much i went everywhere in full throttle, injuries came more and more and media started influencing more and more with my training, seeing the big names, Schwarzeneger, Hadzovic, Ryan Terry, ALL of the world famous bodybuilders whether they were physique, classic, or the next best Hulk, it was these guys i wanted to look like and wanted to represent and step into their shoes."
Which kind of workout do you practice?
"Just stepped up into muscle modelling, so it's all a brance of bodybuilding but there are a variety of different types of physiques to suit your training, diet, and overall way you want to end up looking which for me... Muscle model is perfect!"
What’s your favorite workout and why?
"Love a good leg session, the pump and pain you get for a couple of days after you've hit a big nasty session is almost a painful reward - pain is a good educator so if you don't hurt, you haven't worked hard enough! Everybody likes big thick set legs!!"
What’s the worst workout and why?
"I can't really say anything.. but if i had to it would be arms ONLY because mine grow way too quick so the more i train the more disproportionate they could potentially become haha!!"
Which body part are you proud of the most and why?
"Arms for their size, Legs for their shape, back for the thickness and definition, chest for the sheer mass to it.... ALL OF THEM!!"
Which body part are you not satisfied with and why?
"No real bodybuilder will ever be fully satisfied with anything they have trained, that's the whole reason why we train the way we do.. to become better each time round and constantly improve the way we look when it comes to a competition or a photoshoot or a season of partying in some peoples (not mine) case."
Have you ever competed and what position did you get? Would you do it (again)?
"Yes, i competed yesterday 30/4/17 funnily enough! And won! Muscle model east coast champion which has qualified me for the british finals in 6 weeks time in Birmingham going up against the best of the best! It was my first time back competing since 2015 where i was fitness model, i also won this and was borderline too big, so because of work, university and various other commitments i had all of 2016 out to work on a few things then came back this year and gave it another shot which has obviously paid off!"
How did it feel like on stage?
"1 word. breathtaking."
Are you getting any help with your workout or dietplans?
"Yes, Neil Currey a good friend of mine and a WBFF muscle model pro has been my prep coach from the start of the muscle model aim, we've worked closely together, and he's literally working side by side with me over the next 6 weeks until the finals because he believes in me and we can win it! Why him? Wouldn't you wanna look like he does?"
What kind of diet plan are you on and for how many weeks?
"Strict, low carb, high protein medium fats diet, very gruelling at times but it pays off indeed! 11 weeks from the start before competing yesterday (30/4) and then as i've said another 6 weeks from now but the dieting never really stops.."
Are you taking any supplements?
"Yes, there is a long list of things that we all take that would need more fingers and toes that we have between us to name!"
Do you have any favorite products? Workout clothes, shakers, protein bars or so? Why and where do you buy them?
"I like a variety of them really, the ones that taste good are always obviously the best but when it comes to dieting hard you still have to avoid most of them because they're not quite right for the intake requirements, USN, BSN, SCITEC, CNP, GRENADE, there's again a large list of things i could list off. Workout clothes wise would have to obviously be my sponsor "GymLife Clothing", brilliant quality stuff, starting to branch out internationally and anybody who wants good quality good looking material and clothes to wear during training or even on a day to day basis should be wearing there kit!"
Where do you work out and why?
"Reso24 mainly - its a 24 hour gym, got everything you could possibly need and it's where it all got me started really as it was my local gym during college!"
When are you satisfied? Or will you ever be?
"Never, not even when i win something like a competition because like i said there is ALWAYS room for improvement!!"
How much does your workout mean for you and why?
"The heart and soul of the training is each workout, the effort you put in each time, the sweat, blood sometimes, vomit, tears, even when you feel rock bottom, when you feel shit, when you're ill or stressed. you drag your arse out of bed or away from work and get your arse working in that hot, or cold bastard of a gym!"
How tall are you and how much do you weigh at the moment?
"5" 10/11 unsure as to which to be exact, weight wise i don't really focus on the weight, if i look good then i look good its whats looking back at me in the mirror that i judge it on not whats staring up at me off the weighing scales!"
How much time do you use on fitness?
"Hours and hours each day, each week, cardio, weights, socialising with the other guys who are involved with it, it's not a hobby its a lifestyle!"
Do you have an idol - if yes; who?
"Not so much an idol, but I'm pretty inspired by my coach, hence why I've chosen and turned to him to help me! Look upto him massively with what he's achieved and hopefully I can do the same one day!"
Of all the things you have accomplished, during your 'fitness life' - what are you proud of the most?
"Pushing through the prep this time to yesterday's competition in such a way that I did, mentally, physically draining and demanding but I gave it 100% and look what I achieved! Everything I wanted to go in to! You get what you give and I gave it my all!"
